Job Club
Wednesdays, 10:00-13:00 (walk in), 14:00-16:00 (appointments). Whether you have recently become unemployed or have been out of work for several years, the Job Club is here to help you get the job you want. It specialises in working with people to return to work long-term, not just in 'any old job', but in a job that will get you where you want to be in life. The Job Club will help you to search for employment using the Internet, newspapers, and other many sources. Help is provided with telephone calls, as well as with writing CVs, application forms, and covering letters. The Job Club services are provided by Dering Employment Services, an agency helping Deaf Jobseekers in South London. [back to top] |

Parents & Toddlers
2nd and 4th Tuesdays of every month, 12:30-14:30 (not August & late December) This is a deaf-friendly playgroup. All are welcome, including hearing parents of pre-lingually deaf/hard of hearing children, and deaf parents of hearing children. Carers and grandparents are also welcome. Some parents take turns to host activities for the group: recent events have included arts and crafts, picnics, parties for Easter, Halloween & Christmas. For latest details, see the flyer. Tinnitus & Hard of Hearing
2nd and 4th Mondays of every month, 13:30-16:00 (excluding Bank Holidays). This is a social group who meets at Deaf Access to exchange ideas and share problems. Every fortnight a speaker is invited to talk on a variety of subjects. Entrance is £1.00, which includes a raffle ticket and refreshments. Over 55s BSL Club
1st and 3rd Tuesdays of every month, 14:00-16:00. This is a BSL social group for deaf people over 55. Come along for a cup of tea and good company. The group occasionally organises trips, the last of which was to Southend. [back to top] |

Positive Deaf Lifestyles
Please check our calendar for upcoming BSL Talks. For further details, contact Deaf Access (information@deaf-access.co.uk). This is a series of talks in BSL - hearing people who are learning to sign are welcome to come along. New dates and topics are coming soon. Entrance is free, but donations are always welcome! Refreshments are provided. Additionally, we run popular quiz nights for a mixture of deaf and hearing teams - but only signing is allowed! This is an excellent opportunity to practice your signing in a fun way, and to meet new people at the same time. Tickets for quiz nights are £2.00 each. Walks & Pub Lunches
Tuesdays - please contact us for times and places. A good, healthy walk one week - ruined by a pub lunch the week after! Pub lunches are in the Wetherspoons (Lloyds No 1) by Bromley South station, from 11:30. Walks are in various places (recent trips include walks in the Richmond and Docklands areas and a boat trip with a tour of the Millennium Dome), and leave at various times. Good food, drinks, and company are assured. If the weather is inclement there will be a museum visit in place of a walk. [back to top] |

Badminton Club
Every Monday at 8pm-10pm at Forest Hill Boys School. See flyer for full details. There will be a qualified coach who is deaf at the club every week to offer advice and support on fitness, technique and will be able to explain the rules of singles and doubles badminton. If you would like coaching just ask otherwise you are free to just come to sessions for practice. [back to top] |

Deaf Access Families
Usually on 3rd Sunday or Saturday of every month, 11.00-15.00 We are a group of local Deaf Families who hold monthly meets for their young kids aged 0-8 years old - both Deaf and Hearing - to have some fun. And for parents to chat with each other in BSL. To receive details of new DAF events, send an e-mail to DeafAccessFamilies@yahoo.co.uk to join the mailing list.
