Deaf Access will host a number of presentations during 2013; aimed at the Tinnitus & Hard of Hearing group, on a wide range of subjects.
Upcoming talks include:
Monday 10th June - Research into Tinnitus
Founded in 1911, Action on Hearing Loss(formerly the RNID) is the largest national charity working for and on behalf of those with hearing loss and tinnitus in the UK. We want a world where hearing loss doesn’t limit or label people, where tinnitus is silenced – and where people value and look after their hearing. In this talk, our biomedical Research Programme Manager will talk about her department’s work, focusing particularly on research into the cure for tinnitus. She will be accompanied by an Information Officer who will discuss more general issues relating to hearing loss, tinnitus and our work.
Monday 24th June - Meals on Wheels
Jo will explain how this service works in Bromley and provide some tasty hot snacks.
Monday 8th July - The Salvation Army
In the early days of The Salvation Army they were responsible for starting services to people that are now provided by the government. Come and see which ones and enjoy some history of the early Social Work of The Salvation Army.
Monday 22nd July - A Life in Chocolate
A tasty talk from John Ealey about his interesting career producing chocolate for the top confectionery manufacturers.
