We are always on the lookout for volunteers to bring their skills, knowledge and enthusiasm to Deaf Access. The more people, like you, that we have in our team; the more services and LOCAL people we can offer help to.
Volunteering is also a way of making a difference in your own life too by meeting new people and learning new skills, it can also help in developing your own skills and expertise to gain knowledge and enhance your career prospects and build up your CV. A few hours a week would make a huge difference to so many D/deaf and Hard of Hearing people in and around the Bromley area.
We have opportunities for Volunteers to help out in number of ways:
Receptionists to assist in managing our reception area and helping in organising our groups. A smiling face is a must!!
Equipment Demonstrations to demonstrate the different types of equipment that are available for Deaf and Hard of Hearing people. Develop your face-to-face people skills even further and help others too!
Advocates to provide support and assistance with letter reading and writing, filling in forms and general support for Deaf and Hard of Hearing people. An invaluable service for our clients, use your skills to support others.
Fundraisers to take part in fundraising events and other initiatives. Got great ideas for fundraising? Have a skill that an help us raise funds AND awareness of Deaf Access’ work for the local community?
Admin Assistants to help out with office administration duties. An integral part of our work is managed by by volunteers with existing office skils or those who are willing to take on new challenges.
IT Support to help with updating and developing our IT services such as database management, website and other internet services.
